Freedom from Dental Anxiety
July 1, 2018
Are you ready for the Fourth of July this week? If you’re anything like us, you still have a few things left on your list. Maybe you still need to buy all the food for your gathering, clean the house and yard, and get sparklers for the older kids.
Of course, we all know this holiday is about celebrating more than just a great meal and fireworks display with loved ones. It’s also about appreciating our freedom. Our Lewisville, TX extends a huge thank you to those who help make that possible.
That brings us to a freedom some of our patients never had before visiting Creekview Family Dentistry. It’s freedom from dental anxiety. In fact, many people told us they never felt as comfortable at the dentist as they have with us.
See what freedom from dental anxiety looks like here. Then call 972-505-3423 for a stress-free visit with Dr. Mathew, Dr. Samuel, or Dr. Al-Tamimi.
Listening to You
You can’t truly feel free if your voice is suppressed. We take time to listen to all our patients. If you have fears or concerns, please let us know! Don’t be afraid to share them. If there’s something we can do to make you feel more comfortable, don’t hesitate to ask.
If you tell us you’re nervous or if we detect you’re afraid, we won’t do anything until we know you’re completely comfortable. For some, that means just sharing some kind words, getting to know you, or reassuring you we aren’t here to judge you. For others, it means explaining what your procedure will look like, step by step. Still, it might mean not telling you any specifics if that’s what you want.
If we doing any treatment, we’ll make sure to get all your feedback first. We’ll never perform a procedure until you’ve decided it’s what you want.
Providing Exceptional Dentistry
Some people tell us they’re afraid of the dentist because they’ve had bad dental work done in the past. Some of them have even come to see our Lewisville dentists because they need their smiles fixed.
We provide high-quality treatments, so that’s not a fear in our office. Our state-of-the-art materials and tools, like our CEREC machine, give you results to feel confident about.
And so do our highly trained dentists. For example, Dr. Shirley Mathew is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), a testament to her ability to offer exceptional care. Not even 1 percent of general dentists have earned fellowship or mastership recognition with the AGD.
You can expect a collaborative process to get your smile looking just the way you want. We want to make sure you are happy with your smile for years to come.
Providing Amenities to Relieve Dental Fear
Most people feel comfortable in their own homes, free to do what they want in the comfort it provides. Well, we think the dentist office should make you feel that way too!
Here are a few things you can expect to help relieve dental anxiety at Creekview Family Dentistry.
- TVs
- Headphones
- Rooms with views of a lake
- Technology that improves precision, comfort, and treatment times, including 3D imaging and CEREC same-day crowns
- Two types of sedation
Relaxing You with Sedation
Let’s touch on that last item: sedation. Dental sedation leaves you free to relax, free to not worry about any pain or discomfort. We’re trained in safe sedation techniques, and we make sure we don’t start treatment until you’re completely relaxed.
Choose from laughing gas, which starts working almost immediately, and oral sedation, which provides even more relaxation over a longer period of time. It’s possible you might even doze off with oral sedation!
Sedation may be the one thing that gets you to see the dentist so you can finally improve your smile. And that’s fine! That’s why we offer it.
Many times, our patients find our caring team enough to ease their anxiety. Others ask for sedation but stop requesting it after they’ve visited our office and see how stress-free a trip here can be.
